  • Survey Evaluating Patients Concerns About the Use of Proton Pump Inhibitors
  • Given the immense media coverage of the emerging side effects of proton pump inhibitors, the purpose of this survey is to evaluate patients exact concerns related PPIs and their willingness to discontinue treatment.

  • The Impact of Positive Fecal Occult Blood Testing During Inpatient Admission.

▪ A retrospective analysis looking at patients with positive fecal occult blood test in an inpatient setting and analysis of impact on further management.

▪ The secondary objective was to analyze the direct cost and resource implications that were triggered from further workup.

Co-investigator, Lutheran General Hospital Annual Research Conference 2012 – 2013 ■ Initial Fluid Resuscitation in Acute Pancreatitis - Does an Educational Intervention Help?

▪ Quality improvement project to determine if an educational intervention based upon the American College of Gastroenterology guidelines on acute pancreatitis improved awareness about initial aggressive fluid resuscitation in the management of this condition.

▪ Results indicated the amount of intravenous fluids administered in the post-intervention group were significantly increased compared to the pre-intervention group.
